Who are we?
Great Britain Baseball has risen to number 18 in the WBSC World Rankings following a successful 2024 season. The programme includes a Senior Men's National team, a Women's Senior team, 23 and under, 18 and under, 15 and under and 12 and under.
In 2024 GB 23U, 18U, 15U and 12U's were all in action overseas with the 15U's qualifying for the 2025 European championships, for the first time, after finishing top of their group in Lithuania.
Baseball in Great Britain is an amateur sport, with players and coaches dedicating substantial time and resources to representing their country. Funding for the programme is primarily sourced through donations and support from the British Baseball community, the governing body (British Baseball Federation), Sport England and UK Sport.
The GB teams will be in competitive action during 2025 with the Senior Men, Senior Women, 23Us, and 15Us all involved the WBSC European Championships with the U12s involved in the WBSC European Qualifiers.
In early March 2026, the GB Senior Men's team will be taking part in the World Baseball Classic in the United States with their group games in Houston against the US, Mexico, Italy and Brazil.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The purpose of this crowdfunding campaign is to provide financial support to GB baseball athletes.
Baseball is an amateur sport in Great Britain and athletes at all levels and ages attempting to make the final national rosters commit their valuable time and finances to secure the honour of representing their country and wearing the national team jersey.
Our athletes come from diverse backgrounds and require additional financial assistance beyond what is provided by the British Baseball Federation (BBF), UK Sport, the National Lottery, and Sport England on a team-by-team basis.
On any given weekend, players trying to make the GB baseball teams travel across the country to tryouts and training sessions.
Upon successful selection, athletes incur expenses associated with participating in European and World competitions, training camps, and development tours.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Every penny we raise will go towards supporting the individual players and coaches depending on their circumstances. Support will be given towards the costs of training, equipment, uniforms, travel and accommodation in the form of bursaries.
Every penny of support will be distributed after careful consideration by the BBF national teams programme official, the relevant head coach and the BBF treasurer.
