Why Your Support Matters:
Survivors arriving at our refuge often carry the weight of their experiences with nothing but courage. With your support, we can offer more than just physical shelter – we can provide a haven of warmth, comfort, and hope. The demand for specialised refuges is overwhelming, and not everyone has access to the support they need. This is particularly true for those with no recourse to public funds, who are often turned away from temporary accommodation and on average, face more barriers when accessing the support they need.
At IKWRO, we believe in breaking down barriers. No woman should be turned away due to immigration status or language barriers. Our holistic model provides specialized support for MENA women and girls fleeing "honour"-based abuse, forced marriage, domestic violence, and FGM. Now, we need your help to expand our capacity.
We are raising funds to provide basic essentials—things that every woman deserves but may leave behind in their escape from violence, such as:
- Toiletries and hygiene products
- Clean clothing and underwear
- Emergency food shop
- Emergency travel and phones to stay connected with loved ones
We need your support to ensure that these brave women have everything they need to rebuild their lives with dignity.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference:
How You Can Help
Your donation will directly help women in IKWRO’s refuges meet their most basic needs, allowing them to start fresh and heal. Every contribution counts.
- £15 can buy essential toiletries for one woman.
- £35 can provide a basic set of clothing and underwear.
- £60 can supply emergency food shop.
- £100 can help cover a mobile phone and travel card, so they can stay connected and regain independence.
Each pound donated is a step towards creating a sanctuary where survivors of violence can begin anew. Your generosity will help us provide a warm, peaceful space where women can focus on rebuilding their lives.
Together, let's build a refuge that not only shelters but empowers and heals.
We can give women the dignity they deserve as they take these first steps towards freedom.
