Support us after taking action against fishing
We did it
On 23rd May 2024 we successfully raised £535 with 26 supporters in 28 days

Three of us have been fined by Judge Silas Reid for taking action against the fishing industry - please donate to help us pay them

by Collective in London, England, United Kingdom

In March 2022, myself, Ander and Ki painted the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Headquarters in London red to highlight how the fishing industry harms animals and our oceans. We were calling on the MSC to stop certifying fisheries as there is no such thing as 'sustainable fishing' when our oceans could be depleted by 2050.

Although we don't believe we are 'guilty' of anything, we pled guilty in Court to avoid the financial and emotional stress of a trial and avoid the risk of prison, as the infamous Judge Silas Reid threatened us with. We also had all our legal defences removed both by him and the Courts in general as they further try and prevent protestors speaking their truth in the Courtroom.

As a result, Judge Reid sentenced us with suspended prison sentences, community service and 'rehabilitation days' on top of costs totalling £1,000 between us. It is unjust that we're punished for speaking up for other animals, the oceans and our planet in this way.

Due to our personal financial circumstances we would struggle to pay these fines without your help - please donate what you can, any help is very very appreciated!

Thank you x
