Tens of thousands of workers and helpers in "anganwadi" childcare centres in the Indian capital Delhi and the neighbouring state of Haryana have been on strike over wages, precariousness and other issues. They have faced repression, and on 10 March the strike in Delhi was declared illegal under an emergency services law.
For what their strike is about see https://thewire.in/labour/heres-why-anganwadi-protesters-in-delhi-insist-their-fight-will-go-on
**Since then a thousand workers have been sacked for their role in the strike.**
We are raising money to support their union, the Delhi State Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union (DSAWHU) and another union in Haryana, the Mazdoor Adhikar Sangathan (Workers' Rights Organisation) https://thewire.in/rights/nodeep-kaur-says-she-was-beaten-up-by-police-falsely-implicated-to-quell-farmers-protest which has been at the forefront of organising precarious factory workers and faced heavy repression for its solidarity with last year's farmers' struggle.
Money raised will be split between DSAWHU and MAS.
Faced by state repression and and a powerful far-right and many other enemies, workers organising in India need solidarity. Please donate and circulate!
