Aim

We want to raise £1000 to support our work reporting Greater Manchester news stories that get overlooked by the mainstream media.

We've got lots of stories, events and projects we want to run this year, but good, in-depth journalism like this costs money. There are thousands of stories happening all across Greater Manchester that aren't being told because they don't fit the mainstream narrative, or they affect marginalised and under-served groups. We aim to tell those stories, highlight injustices, and hold the powerful accountable.

We've been operating since 2016 on a shoestring budget, and now is the time for us to grow the business so that it becomes self-sustaining. But it needs an initial boost to cover short-term operating costs and invest in the future of the publication.

We're starting this crowdfunder in Indie News Week, and we'll be running it for one whole month with the aim of reaching £1000 or more to support our work during this busy period for local journalism.
