Support The Meadows Wildlife Park in Caerphilly

Aim

Raising funds for our animals care and enclosure developments supporting conservation efforts at our not-for-profit Wildlife Park in Wales.

The Meadows Wildlife Park is a family-run, not-for-profit wildlife park in South Wales.

We are hoping for donations to put toward our ongoing animal care as well as developing new animal habitats at the park to house endangered species, enabling us to carry out vital conservation work and education efforts at the park. 

Katherine started The Meadows in 2019, as a small farm park with no more than 30 farmyard animals. The park was founded on a passion for connecting people with animals and nature, which is still at the heart of The Meadows over 7 years later.

The park now operates as a fully licensed zoo, with over 300 animals being cared for, including; Capybaras, Meerkats, Ring-tailed Lemurs, Armadillo, Wallabies, Prairie Dogs, and many more. The move from farm to wildlife park was only made possible by the passion and dedication of our fantastic staff and over 150 incredible volunteers, offering up their free time to help out with everything from animal enrichment to early morning muck out!

We are always looking to improve our facilities to ensure that our animals have the very best enclosures, tailored to their specific needs! We have recently been lucky to receive a very generous donation from Admiral, enabling us to install much needed air conditioning units in one of our Lemur enclosures as well as for our critically endangered Cotton-top Tamarins, which have been super helpful in this summers heatwaves!

Conservation work is an ultimate goal of any zoo, and The Meadows is no different. Already home to endangered species including our group of four Ring Tailed Lemurs and two Sulcata Tortoise, we are making significant developments in our work. 

We're excited to share that we are preparing for the arrival of our new, critically endangered Golden Mantella Frogs. Only found in a small area of the Madagascar rainforest, their population is rapidly declining. Being able to house these incredible amphibians will be a fantastic opportunity to help educate people on the species and hope to prevent total extinction. We will be sure to share an update once they have settled in with us!

Any donations would be greatly appreciated, going directly towards animal care, engaging enrichment activities and vital contributions to our important conservation work.
