We have been running a coffee concert series at the wonderful Gloucester venue of St Mary de Crypt Church, Southgate Street, for several years.
The coffee concerts take place on the second Saturday of every month, and are at 11.30am for about 45 minutes in duration. Attendees can enjoy tea, coffee and cake in the church cafe in the school room before the concert.
We have hosted a wide range of artists, from singers and choirs to wind ensembles, pianists and guitarists. Many performers are local but some come a long distance to perform.
Entry to the concerts is free, and we invite donations as people leave, in aid of the performers expenses and the church venue. We do not make any profit from the concerts and we do it as a community service.
The audiences are appreciative and growing, and people look forward to the concerts each month. The standard of performances is very high with professional and talented amateur performers being involved.
We are looking for donations so that we can continue to put on the concerts well into the future, to be able to pay performers’ expenses and donate to the church venue for hosting us, and also to buy some music stands for use during the concerts.
We would be very happy to mention donors in our publicity material on social media and in programmes as appropriate.
Please help us to safeguard this wonderful music-making series in Gloucester.
