For nearly 4 decades, Royston 'Stone' Naylor has captured the humanity & joy of major Music Festivals; archiving spirit of the movement
STONEFREE - The Art of Photography is more than just an image collection; it is a vital social archive dedicated to capturing the raw, spontaneous, and joyful heart of modern cultural movements.
For nearly 4 decades, award-winning photographer Royston 'Stone' Naylor has been on a mission, acting as an emotional historian. His distinctive lens focuses on the pure humanity and joy found at major Music Festivals (like Glastonbury, Small World, and Wilderness), capturing the collective spirit of the crowd and the intimate moments of the performers.
The Vision & The Need
Stone's vision has always been rooted in creative freedom and accessibility. He believes this visual history belongs to the people it documents. This is why Stonefree rarely operates for profit, and the vast majority of his powerful, decades-spanning images are made available for free to those who feature in them, to independent media, and to the public.
The Irony: A body of work this large and important requires robust, professional equipment to manage, archive, and, most importantly, capture new moments. Because Stone dedicates his work to the public good and rarely accepts commercial payment, he cannot fund the necessary upgrades himself.
🎯 The Crowdfunder Goal
The money you raise will be used to replace worn-out professional equipment—cameras, lenses, and archival drives—that are essential for continuing this unique social history project.
By supporting Stonefree, you are not buying a photograph; you are directly funding the continuation of a decades-long commitment to documenting and sharing the soul of human connection. You are securing this crucial visual legacy for future generations, ensuring Stone can continue to capture tomorrow’s moments of humanity and joy.
