💙 Support SEND – Helping Every Family Belong

Aim

Help SEND provide affordable, inclusive events, craft and sensory sessions where neurodiverse families can connect and belong.

SEND – Special Events for Neuro Diverse Company was created from my own experience as a parent.

When my eldest son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, our family experienced first-hand how isolating life can sometimes feel. We found that many family events simply weren't designed with neurodiverse children in mind, and it could be difficult to find places where we could attend as a family without worrying about judgement, overwhelm or whether our child would be understood.

I knew that other families must be experiencing the same thing, and that is where the idea for SEND began.

My aim is simple: to create affordable, inclusive events and activities where neurodiverse children and their families can have fun, make memories, meet other families and feel that they genuinely belong.

SEND is starting here in the Wigan Borough, with plans for family events alongside smaller community sessions such as Brew & Belong, Create & Belong craft sessions and Sensory & Play sessions.

Keeping these activities affordable is incredibly important to me. I don't want cost to become another barrier for families who already face enough barriers.

Money raised through this page will help SEND purchase and replenish craft and sensory resources, provide equipment that can be reused across multiple events, and help towards the costs involved in delivering affordable inclusive activities for local families.

Where possible, resources will be reused from session to session so that every donation can have a lasting impact.

This isn't about creating expensive events. It's about building something sustainable within our community — somewhere families know they can come without judgement, where children can be themselves and where parents and carers can meet people who understand.
