Aim

We are seeking funds to support refugees, asylum seekers, and BAME communities in Scotland including LGBTQI+ refugees who are disadvantaged.

We are an organisation that supports basic fundamental human rights principles for people under extreme and precarious situations within Greater Glasgow. We supports around 1,200 people mainly from the BAME communities within Greater Glasgow who are mostly refugees/asylum seekers including LGBTQIA. We work with the beneficiaries to enhance their wellbeing, health, mental health and socio-economic status. We do these through delivery of our Community Sensitisations and Outreach Events, Tailored Foodbank Programmes, Children's Exercise and Sporting Events, Capacity Building and Enhancing Training and Workshops etc. As a grassroot organisation whose trustees have lived experiences of most of these issues, we make direct and impactful positive differences in the beneficiaries' lives including alleviating abject poverty, reduce fuel poverty, enhancing mental and physical health increase social integration into British life.

We also deliver, amongst other things, free classes providing practical skills to help people into employment, education and skills development such as English tuition (ESOL) and digital literacy classes. We also provide befriending to new arrivals to help them settle into their new lives and run sports and activity groups such as gardening and other sport activities to bring people together through common interests. We also work with partner organisations especially over the past couple of years in ensuring the widest possible impact within the community.

Our social events are particularly tailored to increase community involvement and participation in order to tackle social isolation and increase social integration. This charity ultimately assists migrants and their children the best opportunity to thrive in education, employment and social life.
