Aim

An 'Off Road' wheelchair for inspiring TG Organiser 'Oz' so he can continue to run our festival for people who care for the environment.

A bit about me

My name is Juliette, I am retired and a keen forager and mushroom spotter living on the edge of Dartmoor, involved in a number of local and national environmental projects. I am also a proud and grateful member of the TG Community and was compelled to reach out to our community to support Oz, who supports us all on an often daily basis.

The TG Community

Oz is the invaluable link for this national community enabling members to communicate through social media and wider to chat and stay in touch, share ideas, keep up to date with key issues and so much more. Oz has been committed to running the TG Festival for people who are passionate about caring for the environment and could not happen without a fantastic team of volunteers. This inclusive community, who come from all walks of life, includes members of the anti-fracking movement, professional and amateur mushroom spotters, foragers, artists, musicians.  I've been lucky enough to attend 4 of these amazing festivals taking part in workshops, foraging walks and met up with old friends and new, danced my socks off to a wonderful line up of bands, singers and musicians. The perfect setting to finally catch up with people we talk to 'online and across the miles'.

A bit more about Oz

John 'Oz' Brealey our coordinator, inspires us daily with his commitment to TG. Oz has a complexity of issues which include FND, FMD, Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue Syndrome, fits/Seizures, IBS, Nerve damage in his hands and legs and sadly much more. Despite managing these complex conditions his almost permanent smile and welcoming nature are infectious and he truly is the glue which binds tis community.  Its impossible however, not to notice that Oz gets tired often frazzled by the many demands of running such an event. This isn't made any easier by Oz having to use a more conventional wheelchair in grassy fields and uneven stony paths.  You will often see Oz struggling to negotiate the festival site in particular. It may surprise the community to learn that Oz does not get paid for any of his time. We pay a small price for our festival tickets and all of these monies go towards the running of the event. Its truly admirable that Oz gives so much and it would be wonderful to be able for us all to do something for him.

What we are raising funds for

We are appealing to our TG family and the wider community to please donate to buy Oz an 'Off Road' wheelchair which will greatly improve accessibility issues for Oz generally but most especially when he is in the countryside and at the festival site. I have attached a link to the type of chair/bike that we would hope to buy.

All funds raised we contribute directly to the purchase of an 'off road' (adaptive mobility Chair) either new or second hand for Oz.
