Aim
To raise extra funds to support our struggling staff as they await wages and money due to them.
It is worth deep sadness that we have to announce the closure of Hidden Treasure Trust.
The charity has served the community of Partington, the borough of Trafford and many residents across Greater Manchester for the past 7 years. We have worked tirelessly to reverse the devastating effects of poverty in all its forms for families and vulnerable people for many years, whilst simultaneously bringing hope and joy to thousands through the wonderful Hideaway play centre.
Government policies such as NI increases and min wage increases on small businesses with no exemptions for charities like ours combined with the on-going Cost of Living crisis, a universal drop in donations and competition for grant funding has led to continually rising costs which despite our very best efforts, we simply cannot keep up with. As a result Christmas 2025 has brought heartache for our incredible, dedicated and passionate team who face an uncertain future.
All of our staff team like everyone have bills to pay, and many have children and rely on their wages month to month for the basics. Everyone working for the charity earns far less than they deserve, but due to the current situation all are now unsure when their December pay will arrive, along with notice, holiday and redundancy payments. Staff have been told this could be as far away as mid-February.
Many of you have expressed a desire to help the staff who will be particularly in need - those without savings or friends and family to help through this little season.
All donations to this fund will form a discretionary support fund and go directly to the staff in greatest need as a donation to help them through this month, and will not count as wages or other payments owing.
