Aim: To raise funds for an exhibition of my Brexiles paintings in Sheffield and record new protest songs
In 2023, I am hoping to deliver several arts projects to continue my campaign to promote European values and support causes close to my heart.
I am planning to organise an exhibition of my 'Brexiles' paintings in collaboration with Sheffield for Europe. The exhibition will take place in the Autumn of 2023, at The Circle gallery in Sheffield, with an Exhibition Viewing event on Friday 29th September. The portraits (oil on canvas paintings) depict British Citizens who left the UK, or remained living abroad, citing Brexit as a key factor in their decision to leave the UK. I interviewed and painted 27 individuals (one residing in each EU member state) to document the impact of the "Brexit Brain Drain". I want to display these paintings, alongside the participant's interviews in an exhibition in my home city of Sheffield and organise an opening night event in colaboration with Sheffield for Europe. Funds raised will help to pay for the gallery hire and marketing and promotion of the event.
I am also raising funding to continue recording my protest songs and producing music videos. My music producer is brlliant, but his services cost £200 per day. Additional funds will help me to fund the production of new protest songs and music videos to support my pro-EU campaigning.
