Support Shalom Medical Clinic expand outreach & provide quality healthcare to every household in Kitgum. Support life-saving care today!
Shalom Medical Clinic is a community-centred social enterprise located in Kitgum Municipality in Northern Uganda. Since opening our doors in June 2023, we have committed ourselves to one mission: making quality healthcare accessible to every household, regardless of income, background, or location within the municipality.
We are fully licensed by the Ministry of Health, Uganda, through the Allied Health Professionals Council (Reg. No. AHPC/24/25132/P).

Although Kitgum is urbanising, many people still face significant barriers to healthcare. Low-income earners, elderly individuals, people with chronic diseases, and informal workers often cannot afford consultation fees or transport. Many residents seek treatment only when conditions have become severe. Hypertension and diabetes remain underdiagnosed. Malaria and HIV continue to affect families because of limitd access to testing, information, and early care.
Our vision is simple: no one should be denied healthcare because of where they live or how much they earn.
We believe no family should be left without Medical care, regardless of income, background or location. To reach more people, we organize Community outreach programs, provide essential medicines and medical supplies, and support families in need with basic healthcare services.
Our Goal: To expand our outreach programs, improve Clinic facilities, and provide life-saving care to more households.
1. Provide Free Medical Consultations and On-Site Treatment
Our medical team will offer free consultations, physical examinations, rapid diagnosis, and treatment for common acute and chronic diseases.
Many municipal residents skip medical care because of financial limitations or busy informal work schedules. By bringing healthcare to them, we help people receive timely attention before illness becomes severe.
2. Offer Free Screening for HIV, Malaria, Hypertension, and Diabetes
Chronic diseases often progress silently. Many people in Kitgum do not know they have hypertension or diabetes until they develop complications.
Our outreach will provide:
HIV testing & counselling
Malaria rapid diagnostic testing
Blood pressure monitoring
Blood sugar testing (RBS)
These services empower individuals to take control of their health early, reducing long-term complications and costs.
3. Deliver Tailored Health Education and Prevention Sessions
A major barrier to improved health outcomes is lack of accurate information. Misconceptions about malaria prevention, HIV transmission, nutrition, hygiene, and chronic diseases remain widespread.
Our outreaches will include:
Group health education talks
Demonstrations on malaria prevention and treatment
Guidance on chronic disease management
Diabetes Screening and management
Hypertension detection and support
With your support, we aim to expand these programs, reach more families, and ensure that everyone in Kitgum has access to essential healthcare services.
During each outreach we will provide free medicines for conditions diagnosed on-site, such as:
Antimalarials
Antibiotics
Pain relievers
Antihypertensive and diabetic starter doses
To run consistent, impactful outreaches, we need support in four main areas:
1. Medical Personnel & Basic Facilitation
This includes transport, meals during long field days, protective gear, and small allowances for volunteers. A well-supported team means efficient, high-quality service delivery.
2. Diagnostic Equipment & Medical Supplies
We need portable tools such as:
BP machines
Glucometers & strips
Malaria test kits
HIV rapid test kits
Thermometers
Examination kits
Gloves, disinfectants, syringes
These items enable accurate diagnosis and safe treatment right in the field.
3. Medication and Consumables
Funds will support purchase of essential medicines and consumables including antibiotics, antimalarials, antihypertensives, diabetics supplies, wound care items, and analgesics.
4. Community Mobilisation
Mobilisation efforts include:
Local radio announcements
Posters
Flyers
Effective mobilisation ensures that everyone especially the most vulnerable knows when and where to find our services.
With your support, Shalom Medical Clinic can deliver regular monthly outreaches reaching hundreds of people per event. Over one year, we aim to achieve:
3,000+ people receiving free medical consultations
1,500+ people screened for hypertension & diabetes
1,200+ malaria tests
1,000 HIV tests & counselling sessions
Hundreds receiving free essential medication
10+ neighbourhoods reached within the municipality
Significant local awareness of disease prevention
Our goal is a healthier, more knowledgeable, and more empowered Kitgum Municipality.
Together, we can ensure that no resident is left behind.
