We're still collecting donations
On the 2nd August 2022 we'd raised £2,580 with 34 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Following Covid setbacks, we need your help to get beloved show, In PurSUEt, to Edinburgh Fringe for its first full-hour, full-month debut.

On the 2nd August 2022 we'd raised £2,580 with 34 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Because we didn't get the arts council funding we were hoping for, we've had to stop working with several professionals we'd hired at the beginning of the year. The extra money will enable us to hire again, and pay the creatives we had booked on the show to make it the best it could be. It will also allow our much loved director, Tom Knight to be on the ground in Edinburgh with us.
We had plans to tour In PurSUEt after the festival however its extremely costly without a tour booker. The extra funding will enable us to plan and set up a tour at a national level and show ACE that our show is backed for the funding support we need.
Eleanor Higgins has everyone talking with her first solo show: In PurSUEt. It was a hit show of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe pre-pandemic. Inspired by true events; a passionate Sue Perkins Sueperfan, sent to a therapist to deal with her drinking, relays her adventures pursuing Sue. This groundbreaking first solo show combines themes of mental ill-health, substance abuse and LGBTQ+ issues.
In 2019 Bush Productions took a 45-minute version of In PurSUEt up to Edinburgh Fringe for a limited two and half week run. The fierce, heartfelt, LGBTQ+ tragi-comedy took the fringe by storm. First creating buzz by its unique premise, then by selling out its performances. Word quickly spread throughout the city and In PurSUEt fast became a smash of the festival. After leaving its mark, and cementing itself as a stand-out act that year, (plus a cult-following fan base to boot), In PurSUEt earned itself the much coveted Edinburgh Fringe sellout laurel - following an upscale halfway through its run to a double capacity venue.
Even the mayor himself, Sadiq Khan, is a fan!
Now, due to demand, the show is being called back to the motherland - but this time for a full-hour, full-month run at one of the top four venues; the highly acclaimed Underbelly. The team are in the midst of reworking, redeveloping and previewing a new revamped version of the show to packed audiences with performances at Brighton Fringe and London.
In PurSUEt and Bush productions were on an upward trajectory beginning 2020. Sadly, due to a virus we shall not mention, everything we’d worked towards came to a grinding halt. Following the difficult setbacks over the last 2+ years, and the loss of potential funding in the last month, we need your help more than ever to get this show back on its feet and bring the new, upscaled, revamped, super-charged version of this acclaimed production to the city of Edinburgh - where it can shine bright again in all its glory.
In PurSUEt explores themes of mental health, substance misuse and trauma. Highlighting the importance of mental health awareness. Alchohol consumption grew rapidly during the pandemic and is often disregarded as a non-serious problem among young people. Far too often, harmful coping mechanisms are normalised by modern day ways of life. With our work, we hope to open up a dialogue about the pressures of contemporary life. To create a safe space for people to share their stories and know that its possible to live life free from substances. We know, as a company, that with the right support, recovery from substance misuse is possible.
We have secured the venue at one of Edinburgh’s top performance spaces and managed to use production money up until now for the deposit and Fringe registration. But we still have a way to go to make it to Edinburgh. Your support will go towards the financial task of getting the show back on its feet and at the Festival. Including things like:
No amount is too little (or too large for that matter). In PurSUEt has a long life ahead of it beyond this summer. Any donation would be an investment in the exciting future life of In PurSUEt and its ongoing journey! :)
