COVID-19 is having a devastating impact on our small business. We need all the help we can get to keep our heads above water

On the 20th May 2020 we'd raised £1,523 with 67 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our vision for Howling Wolf Coffee stemmed from our travels in Australia, and the incredible coffee culture that can be found there. Our passion was to emulate this, and bring it back to our little corner of the South West. So, we invested all of our money (close to £30,000) in having our Wolf Pup built to our specifications so that we could begin providing incredibly tasty, locally roasted, speciality coffee to the people of East Devon & the South West.
This has been our dream project for the last year, and it has been so profound meeting all of our customers, building relationships with other businesses, and spending most of our days perfecting the taste of our coffee. I think it's safe to say that we were both pleasantly surprised by how much we fell in love with our Wolf Pup and the work we do.
However, this is only the beginning for us! One day, we would like to expand Howling Wolf into a unit, offering yoga and barre classes, alongside our cafe. Eventually this will be turned into a community centre, for everyone to come together, get a bit of exercise in, work on community projects, and offer a safe place for people to go.
Sadly, like a lot of small businesses at the moment, the global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape which is going to make it very challenging for our business to survive. Over the last week, we have lost a vast majority of our events for this year and we are currently operating at a loss in earnings of up to £7000, solely from the pitch fees for these events and predicted earnings based on 2019. We are expecting more events to be cancelled in the coming weeks, and this figure is likely to rise significantly.
Along with this, as the trailer sits in our garden, we are still paying in excess of £600 every month to keep it ticking over. With no information on when we may be able to trade again, these monthly outgoings are incredibly daunting given it is not bringing in any money at this time.
Having to sell the Wolf Pup is the very last thing we want to do, but it is something that we may need to consider. However, we're hoping that by crowdfunding, we're able to stay open past the pandemic, and continue working on creating some truly excellent coffee.
