We are raising money to ensure that UAL High Holborn cleaners can go on strike and not lose income.
Cleaners at UAL High Holborn have experienced a doubling of their workload since OCS took over the contract at the beginning of this year.
The cleaners have repeatedly called for additional, permanent staff to be hired to bring staffing levels back to the levels they were under the previous employer - not entirely fixing the issue of workload but at the very least making it bearable again.
The extreme and unsafe workloads experienced by High Holborn cleaners have caused many physical and mental stresses, excacerbating existing conditions, and creating an environment where workers feel unable to speak out or challenge a dangerous situation.
Cleaners at UAL, already suffering for lack of proper protections and low pay due to outsourcing, are asking for the bare minimum - a safe environment in which to work.
OCS and UAL need to listen and commit to hiring new cleaning staff at High Holborn immediately.
