With extra money, we will be able to add matinee performances of all shows within HER's season, where we offer complementary tickets for community partners and local schools. This includes schools in Greater Manchester, Huddersfield and Nottingham. We will send out complementary ticket offers to schools in these areas if we reach our stretch target, inviting them to attend these additional matinee performances.
HER Productions was established in 2019. We launched as a result of the lack of female-focused work being staged in Manchester, and the talented female writers, directors and actors being unrepresented in the North. We stage new work, All-Female Shakespeares and work by established playwrights. We have a strong track record of commercial sell-out shows and working with new creatives to launch their work.
Sadly, after being viably funded by Arts Council England for most of our projects, during the pandemic this severely dried up. This year, the demand for Arts Council Funding dramatically increased and - to be transparent, HER have had a string of rejections and are now faced with the prospect of delivering our upcoming season without any government funding.
We are looking for support, only from those who feel in a position to, and this will go toward company wages, accessibility costs & marketing for our immediate upcoming season:
1) The tour of our All-Female 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in January.
2) The production of 'Vagina Cake' by Laura Harper - a new Northern Comedy about female friendships
3) Vignettes - our annual new writing showcase at Hope Mill Theatre
All our work aims to entertain & inspire, while placing important voices at the centre. You can be a part of facilitating these stories, and ensuring those involved are paid for their work and our stories are marketed to reach the most number of people.
