A health diagnosis can feel overwhelming, isolating and uncertain. But one of the most powerful moments in any journey is discovering that you're not alone.

Whether you're living with a physical or mental health condition, supporting someone you love, caring for others, or simply searching for hope and inspiration, Health Films TV brings together authentic stories that educate, encourage and connect.

We are Freshrb Health Media, an award-winning creative social enterprise that harnesses the power of film to improve health awareness, champion health research, and inspire positive change. We believe that everyone living with a life-limiting health condition has a story worth telling, that every voice deserves to be heard and that every person has the potential to make a meaningful impact.

From this belief, we’ve built a growing community of filmmakers whose lives have been shaped by health experiences through our personal diagnoses, the journeys of loved ones, or challenges witnessed in our communities. Together, we share one purpose: to tell stories that educate, inspire and bring hope.

Driven by this vision, we created the Manchester Health Film Festival (MHeFF) which is a unique space where filmmakers, patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and communities come together to explore how film can transform the way we understand health. Year after year, we've seen audiences moved by stories that humanise healthcare, challenge perceptions and inspire action.

After the Manchester Health Film Festival, one question kept coming back to us:

"Where do these stories live once the lights go down?"

Health Films TV is our response.

We are building a dedicated streaming platform for health-focused films, documentaries, animations and podcasts from the UK and around the world. More than a video-on-demand service, Health Films TV will be a trusted home for filmmakers, health professionals, researchers and communities to share verified, thought-provoking stories that educate, inspire and empower.

Our vision is to create the world's leading platform for health storytelling, where every film has the potential to improve understanding, inspire action and contribute to better health outcomes for everyone. 

Health Films TV empowers the public with accessible, trusted human-led stories to educate on diverse health conditions in an era where AI challenges content creation. By fostering emotional understanding and empathy, each film helps individuals better support themselves, their loved ones and others in the community. The platform strengthens informed communities, encouraging open dialogue, reducing stigma, whilst building a more compassionate and connected health support system.

5. To tackle AI generated health content that can lead to misinformation and disinformation around health.

By Supporting this campaign, here is what you are directly doing:

• Giving health storytellers/Filmmakers a global stage: helping filmmakers, animators, and podcast creators share trusted health stories with wider audiences.
  
• Supporting the continued build of the Health Films TV platform and apps: funding the development of the platform starting with the web, followed by mobile, and smart TV streaming experiences.
• Fighting health misinformation: supporting expert curation and evidence-based content in an era of AI-generated misinformation and disinformation.
• Creating a health-focused community: enabling forums, discussions, and audience engagement around wellbeing, prevention, and lived experiences.
• Growing a sustainable creator economy: laying the foundation for future remuneration and long-term opportunities for health filmmakers and contributors.

Our initial goal is £20,000 but our ambition doesn't stop there.

Every pound beyond our initial target will help us expand the platform, commission more health films, support more filmmakers and accelerate our journey from Web to Mobile and TV.
