Aim

We want to give them a financial cushion when they arrive so they can get the things they need while waiting for their benefits to come in.

Hanna and Maksym, mother and son, used to live in Kyiv. At the start of the war they had a three days journey to Poland, a difficult journey from their account of it. After reaching safety they had to turn around and return to Ukraine because they couldn’t find anywhere to stay. After months of uncertainty, danger and visa application delays they are finally able to join us this week and they are so relieved, grateful  and excited to start their new life.
They do not want any more help from us and are already embarrassed to be taking what they see as Charity. We are happy to be able to provide for them but we would love to be able to give them a large sum of money that is there’s to get what they need without having to ask. After all they have been through we are sure that some control over their circumstances can only help.
