Hambledon FC are asking their supporters to help improve the playing surface at Badger Park and get the Clubhouse Corona ready.
Hambledon FC like many clubs have been in lock down since early March. Like many we are desperate to get back to playing football safely again. We are looking to make changes to the clubhouse to make sure people can be confident in returning safely. Hand santizer stations for example.
The club has been running since 1906 and has called Badger Park it's home since the 1950s. The club has gone from strength to strength and continues to increase club membership and the number of sides at the club. At the start of the 2019/20 the club fielded 5 adult teams for the first time. This historic season that promised so much was bought to a premature end with the lock down enforced by the Corona Virus.

The club is also looking to improve it's playing surface for it's members to give them the best pitch possible. As a result we are looking into ways to improve hard wearing areas of the pitch - penalty boxes and the centre circle. The club is looking to get hybrid stitching in these areas. The club is run by a dedicated team of volunteers no such more than the Grounds team at the ground. Who put in the hours to provide a playing surface the members can be proud of. With the increase in teams at the club this has lead to an increase in pitch usage putting more pressure on the pitch and grounds staff.
We are lucky to have these volunteers and their work has been recognised recently winning the Grounds team of the year in Surrey for Step 7 and below. Being able to use hybrid grass in certain areas of the pitch would dramatically improve the playing surface and the quality for our members
