Aim

Following the loss of funding for our award-winning Weekend Club for refugees, we’re raising funds to save it!

Interfaith Glasgow's Weekend Club is an interfaith response to the social isolation often experienced by people from refugee backgrounds. The project works across Glasgow's diverse communities to host monthly fun, free, family-friendly events at the weekend for refugees, that help them feel welcome, make new friends, get to know Scotland better, and practise speaking English.

Due to recent funding cuts across the charity sector, we are at real risk of having to cease delivery of this vital and thriving programme unless we can secure sufficient funds to keep it going. We're inviting you to be part of the solution! By contributing to this match-funded crowdfunder, you'll be helping us run outdoor Weekend Club events throughout the Summer.

Through conservation activities such as building badger boxes and birdfeeders and sowing wildflower meadows, participants will contribute to local nature restoration and, by engaging in fun, outdoor activities as part of a diverse group, will feel connected to nature and each other.

This crowdfunder is match funded by the Aviva Community Fund, meaning that all donations of up to £250 will be doubled! So, for every £1 you donate, the Weekend Club will receive £2, making this the perfect time to support a project that means so much to so many: 'I feel like I have met a big family for the first time in UK', writes one participant; 'I no longer feel lonely' writes another.

Donate today and make a big difference! Thank you for your support!
