Support Flos Collective to continue working with artists in Glasgow and across the UK.

by Flos Collective CIC in Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom

Flos Collective CIC need your help to continue doing what we do! To find out more about what we do and how you can help us continue reading below.

Who We Are

Flos Collective CIC is a Glasgow-based organisation dedicated to promoting and connecting women and artists of marginalised genders through workshops, exhibitions, and community-building events. Our mission is to help to support diversity in the arts by offering a supportive platform for creativity and collaboration.

Our Framework

All revenue from events goes directly back into funding more projects and supporting the artists we work with; financial accessibility to our events is always a priority! This project has never been about making money, we truly believe in the importance of inclusive spaces in the arts and it's ability to connect people.

This Year's Achievements

Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible artists and organisations on a range of projects. Despite operating with zero external funding, we’ve accomplished so much this year, including:

  • 2 club nights

  • 2 open mics

  • 2 workshops

  • 3 open decks events

  • 1 fundraiser in collaboration with Fanny Riot

  • 1 film screening

  • 2 collaborative hikes with the Alba Cross

  • 1 visual arts exhibition in London in collaboration with Paper and Clay

  • 1 immersive night with Phlox DJs and Flos artists

  • 1 EP launch for Mokusla

  • Guest-hosted 3 radio shows in collaboration with Clyde Built, Radio Buena Vida and Eventfull! Calendar

Additionally, we became a Community Interest Company, rebranded, launched our website, and received our first ever funding from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Make It Happen Fund for a project that will be happening in 2025!

What We're Asking

We're so proud of what we've been able to achieve so far, completely self-funded, and are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way. However, we are unable to continue in this capacity. Flos Directors Cath and Esme now work full-time jobs to support themselves, while Pippa juggles part-time work alongside gigging and creating an album.

Despite this, we remain deeply committed to Flos Collective’s mission. We love the work we do with Flos Collective, however it is becoming financially straining, both for the organisation and the core team. Constant cuts to public arts funding has only put more pressure on us and the organisation to find a way to be self-sustaining.

We believe in the importance of inclusive and accessible arts spaces and the talent of the art scene across Scotland and the UK. With your support, we can ensure Flos Collective thrives and continues to uplift artists, helping us bring our exciting plans for 2025 to life. Every contribution will make a significant impact on the future of Flos Collective.

What The Money Could Be Used For

We have big plans for 2025, with the hopes of continuing with the success of the projects we ran in 2024, we plan on using your donation to:

  •  Host four community building events
  • Curate one exhibition
  • Collaborate with at least two other organisations on projects
  • Run the first iteration of Flos Festival, a project we have been planning for a while that will be a Glasgow City based festival celebrating the talent our community has to offer.
  • Work with many more artists, facilitators and makers!

Some examples of how money is used for events include:

  • Artist / performance / producer fees
  • Artist commissions
  • Venue Hire
  • Accessibility costs for artists and audiences
  • Transport Fees
  • Materials / Equipment
  • Event Documentation (Photography / Videography)
  • Website Maintenance
  • Administrative Costs
  • Event Riders

All donations, no matter how small, are extremely important to us and we are so grateful for all the support shown so far! All the money donated will go directly towards the production of more creative projects!
