Camden Road WFC was founded to provide women from all walks of life a space where they can express themselves, build confidence, and forge lasting friendships as adults. Our women’s football team plays three times a week, competing in both 11-a-side and 5-a-side leagues. Many of us have been passionate about football from a young age, and we take pride in providing an opportunity to continue playing the sport competitively beyond youth or university leagues.
While the success of the Lionesses has sparked wider interest in international football and the WSL, we firmly believe that the amateur level is vital too. Many footballers juggle busy work and personal lives, and there is a real desire to keep playing the game they love.
Camden Road WFC is a competitive, motivated, and player-run team, committed to keeping our fees affordable and making football accessible to women in London. However, to sustain our club and continue improving our offering to players, we desperately need to secure alternative sources of funding. Your donations will help us cover ongoing expenses and ensure we can provide a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible space for women across London to come together and play football.
Although we are a registered business, we do not keep any profit for personal gain. Our club is player-run and everyone volunteers their time for no payment. Every penny raised is reinvested directly into the club, benefiting our players and the wider community.
Why donate to Camden Road WFC?
1. Community Engagement:
We take great pride in fostering a sense of community and providing a friendly, safe space where players can bond and truly be themselves. We’re home to many queer women who value this especially. Camden does not tolerate discrimination of any kind, and we play in leagues that are genderqueer inclusive and accept all women’s right to play. Camden Road WFC extends our welcoming environment beyond the pitch. Our team has participated in numerous tournaments, events, and fundraisers that promote inclusivity, such as the Ball Together Now Festival in Manchester last summer.
2. Success and Visibility:
We value success. From commanding 18-0 wins in 5-a-side to dramatic last-minute winners, we are a highly competitive team. Our success is a reflection of our drive and commitment, and we use it to lift up everyone who supports us. We have invested into hiring an UEFA-licenced coach this season to continue our development, who has brought fantastic experience and energy to the team.
3. Financial Accessibility:
As a player-run club that is committed to financial accessibility, our priority is to keep membership fees as low as possible. We know how difficult it can be for women living in London to fund their hobbies. This means we require funding from other sources to cover ongoing expenses, such as training ground hire, match day fees and coach fees. We strive to continually improve our offer to players and would like to provide training sessions on full-size pitches, training gear and high quality equipment.
What will your money go towards?
Our target is to raise £3000. Your donations will play a crucial role in keeping our club running while ensuring that our fees remain affordable for all players.
£1500 raised would directly contribute to essential costs; training pitch hire, match day fees and kit provision. This would also help us continue to fund the expertise of a UEFA-licensed coach to drive the development of our team, elevating our performance and helping us rise through the ranks of the London Women's Saturday Football League. Coach Daniel Atite from CD Football has already seen us win multiple matches this season and keep consecutive clean sheets, and he is essential to our team.
£2200 raised would allow us all to invest in all of the above, plus higher-quality training equipment, as well as a dedicated away/training kit for each player to foster a sense of professionalism, pride, and belonging. A uniform kit not only boosts confidence but also strengthens team cohesion and would enhance our overall mindset during away matches and training.
£3000 raised would allow us all to invest in all of the above, plus hire of a full-size training pitch for 8 training sessions this season. Currently, we are limited to a 9-a-side pitch, which is insufficient for our growing squad of 25 players. A full-size pitch will simulate match conditions, allowing us to train more effectively and reach our true potential.
We are a small club with big ambitions, and this is just the beginning for us. We would be thrilled if you would consider donating to Camden Road WFC, to provide our players with the support and resources they deserve, and to help us expand the club further to reach more women across North London.
