Support Broken Sleep Books: Radical Publishing for Radical Times

Broken Sleep Books is not just a press — it’s a movement.

We are a working-class, disabled, and queer-led independent publisher that has, since 2018, challenged the status quo of UK publishing. We platform the voices that mainstream institutions too often ignore — those at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, disability, and disobedience.

We are now asking for your help. After repeated public funding rejections, we’re launching this crowdfunder to continue our mission: publishing radical, risk-taking, community-minded literature that speaks to the times and shapes the future.

Why We’re Fundraising

We’re seeking to raise £20,000–£30,000 to:

• Publish dozens of new books across poetry, prose, and hybrid genres between September 2025 and December 2026

• Maintain our monthly online events with powerful line-ups and radical intentions

• Continue our free books, mentoring, and subscriptions for low-income, incarcerated, and marginalised writers and readers

Books on the Horizon

Between September 2025 and the end of 2026, we’ll publish a staggering list of original, vital titles, boundary-pushing, emotionally resonant, and stylistically daring. These aren’t just books. They’re interventions, reimaginings, and acts of survival.

We’re offering exclusive book bundles as rewards from individual titles to full annual sets, available for donations between £5 and £500. Every contribution supports our mission and brings literature into more hands and hearts.
