Aim

Funds will help Broken Grey Wires achieve their goals; supporting people with ill mental health through art.

Broken Grey Wires (BGW) is an organisation responding to, and exploring mental health illness, through art.

My name is Lizz Brady and i am founder of BGW. I founded the organisation in 2014, after i was sectioned for suicidal thoughts. I am an artist, creating interactive installations, films and sound, exhibiting internationally. (www.lizzbrady.com)

The past 5 years i have curated major exhibitions and live gigs, around the UK. All with the aim to stop the stigma thrown at mental health. I want to keep opening up that conversation, and collaborate with you, to normalise the issues we all face.

Funds raised will help keep BGW going and realising these ideas:

1) I am currently accepting submissions for the next BGW art zine. This is the third zine I have created and I am excited to receive your work. Funds will help print the zine in full colour to an excellent standard!

2) The next major exhibition will be in Middlesbrough at The Auxiliary Gallery. Artists exhibiting include Gillian Wearing, Luke Fowler, Tim Etchells, Vito Acconci...(full list on the BGW website)

Funds will help get me to meetings in Middlesbrough, connect and develop friendships within the mental health community, in preparation to run art workshops.

3) Funds will allow me time and space to work hard on the project, apply for exhibitions and to create more opportunities for people like you!

If you have any questions regarding the BGW project, please email me and i would love to chat!
