We are delighted to announce the reopening of 24 Hope Street dance studio, a well-used and essential Liverpool hub for dance artists and the community.
The space is being collectively run by artists for artists. Alongside a timetable of open classes, our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive space for artists to create, collaborate and perform.
Since opening our doors at the beginning of the year we have been overwhelmed by the positive response from the North West Dance community. As a newly formed collective, we have secured a lease on the building for the next 3 years and maintained classes for teachers and the community. These offer a diversity of provision including: ballet, tap and contemporary, commercial, improvisation, digital, dance for health and Parkinson’s and creative classes for the over 60’s.
We have successfully negotiated with the landlord to protect the considerable digital assets and will be paying for it through a payment plan over the next 12 months.
Our upstairs studio has quickly become a place for ideas and visions, shared practice and open labs and we are now looking at how we can maintain and grow this resource for the artist community. We are reaching out to collaborators and supporters to help us keep this collective space alive. Our goal is to raise funds for : -
- General upkeep, administration and maintenance of the space
- Retain the digital equipment and resources for our unique dance and technology labs
- Start-up fund for the collective to organise and coordinate activity within the building
- Development opportunities that connect regional artists with national and international artist networks
As active community leaders in the field of dance, we know how important this space is to our city. By making a donation, you will be supporting our voluntary efforts to keep this important resource alive and accessible to everyone.
We believe that a community of artists is a powerful force for good, and we are determined to do everything we can to foster a culture of creativity, collaboration and inclusiveness.
With your support, this studio can thrive as a home for dance in Liverpool where artists meet, make and show work.
Join us in our mission to support the dance community and help artists succeed. Every little bit helps and we are deeply grateful for any support you can provide. Let’s make it happen!
