Aim

We want to develop our talent, support new members and reach new levels of what an open access choir can achieve.

The Sunday Boys' summer concert this year will be looking at Manchester as our home. We would like to use the summer concert as an opportunity to raise money to invest in the future. Singing lessons, new resources, equipment - all to improve the quality of our singing and increase the range of music we can tackle.

The Sunday Boys is an open access choir, which means that we don't audition members. We work hard as a group to make sure that we are singing the best that we can, but know that with more resources, expertise and (essentially) money we can do even more exciting stuff - and reach new heights.

We are immensely proud of everything we have achieved as a choir, and with what we have to present at "Our Manchester Home" this summer. But we think it would be brilliant to use this concert as an opportunity to invest in our members for the future - who give so much time to this choir.

So, if you're already planning on coming to our concert - why not add on a little extra to your ticket to build into The Sunday Boys' future. And if you can't make this concert, worry not. Your money here will mean that the next one you can make it to will be spectacular. Our membership are wonderful, and it would be brilliant to be able to build on all of the wonderful things they have already achieved.

Take a read about the concert below, buy your ticket, buy your friends a ticket, buy a stranger a ticket - and (if you would) give something extra to invest in the people that make this choir a community and an asset to Manchester.

 As always, thank you!

Join Manchester’s male voice choir The Sunday Boys at their much-anticipated summer gig for an evening of music, singing and celebration as they reflect on their relationship with Manchester and the journey their beloved city has taken them on.

Featuring lyrics from Manchester-based poet Andrew McMillan and set to music by The Sunday Boys’ Musical Director Michael Betteridge, this special gig will feature four original compositions based on The Sunday Boys’ real-life experiences of Manchester, the city they call home.

The evening will feature a varied and exciting programme of original composition and arrangements such as; Leather by Tori Amos, Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat, I Carry Your Heart with Me by David Dickau among many others.

Written around the themes of arrival, exploration, settling down and aging, The Sunday Boys will take you on a musical journey through this unique city.
