The Suit Heist is a queer coming-of-age short narrative film being created by UWE Film Students.
When a trans male student who wants to wear a suit for the school prom gets gifted an expensive pink dress by his mum, he has to decide between pleasing his mum or being himself.
After a fight with his mum, his friends from the queer club plan a heist to buy him a suit and sneak him out the house, then all dress up in suits at the prom to show their solidarity. The main message of this story is the importance of chosen family and gender euphoria, topics that are very underrepresented in current media
