We aim to support to those who are experiencing mental health difficulties caused by the cost of living crisis by providing 1:1 counselling.
We are Creative Minds, a counselling community interest company in Sunderland. At Creative Minds it is our mission to work in partnership with the community in order to provide an accessible service that aims to improve the mental health and well-being of children, adults, and young people of all ages and backgrounds. We are a small team of experienced and junior counsellors, neurodiverse counsellors, student counsellors, and wellbeing assistants. With the funds raised from Aviva we will be helping people who are struggling with their mental health due to the Cost of Living Crisis we are currently facing. We will use the money to offer free counselling to help give people back the confidence and resilience needed to get through this tough time and help people to cope with the challenging emotions caused by this current situation we are dealing with. We will give people a safe space for people to voice their concerns, tell us the worries they are facing and feeling and provide professional advice on how to manage those feeling and sign post to other organization that can offer specific support for financial help. We have seen a huge increase in referrals to our mental health services sue to the cost of living crisis and people often feel they have no way out, we want to put a stop to this and help prevent suicide by providing much needed support.
