One of the most annoying things to endure during a live enviroment, whether you are in a band, a DJ, a singer or anyone else that treasures their expensive speaker systems, are guests placing drinks and other damaging items on top of your speakers.
Sadly, there are entertainers that have had to wave goodbye to their pride and joy and see expensive speakers that they rely on, become nothing more than a drinks table!
Our founder Stuart has been a mobile DJ and entertainer for over 20 years. Over the last ten years he decided to focus on taking his service to a higher, more professional level and purchase more expensive quality equipment. In May 2012 Stuart bought brand new high end speakers and subs and was so proud of the amazing sound quality and appearance of his new set up.Whilst entertaining at a prestigious corporate ball, he found guests placing drinks on his new subwoofer speakers. Stuart began to panic, thinking that if a drink spilled over them, it would ruin the subs and other electrical items around the back of the sub!Stuart requested guests to keep their drinks away from his subs and made signs on paper requesting that guests should not place drinks on his equipment, but they were ignored! When he got home he immediately searched online for a solution but to no avail. So it began, sharing the initial problem with his dad and discussing possible solutions. Immediatelythe concept of a pyramid shaped product was created.Stuart began working alongside Business Gateway in Renfrewshire, Scotland and with their advice, began working with various academic establishments such as the University of West of Scotland and the Glasgow School of Art.Stuart’s partner Laura became a director in the business at this time & they have worked together to develop the product. They enlisted Filament Product Design to investigate various concepts and the pyramid shaped design was refined and developed. After 3 years of design, research, engineering and manufacturing, they now have a product that they are immensely proud of!Subsafe is patent pending, has a European design registration in place & the brand is trademarked.Subsafe were in attendance at BPM 2014 with the aspiration of having them available for Christmas 2014 but with all the refinements required it was felt necessary to take more time to achieve these to release a premium quality product.
