Aim: Life Skills Education programmes have been around for 30 years next year. So to celebrate I am getting fit for a good cause.

In 2025, the programmes that Life Skills Education Charity delivers will have been around in one form or another for 30 years.  They have delivered social skills training to over 500,000 young people in that time, adding to that total by 12,000 annually.

The cost of living crisis has hit everywhere, and charities are no exception.  With local councils cutting back on all but essential services and donations hitting new lows for the sector, I thought I'd do my bit and try and gee you all up into making me move!

As anyone who knows me knows, I am a sedentary beast at best.  30 miles per month may not seem like a lot to some of you, but for me, it'll be a push.  So come, give me some encouragement, support a great cause, and help me beat everyone else by getting to my £1000 target first!

I will post image updates of routes and distances each month so you know I am not just walking to the pub!

For those of you who don't know, Life Skills Education is a charity that believes all young people should have access to the tools to develop the skills essential for personal growth, effective communication, and successful interactions in all aspects of life, including work, relationships, and within their community.  Developing and honing these abilities is proven to improve overall well-being and positive outcomes.

Their vision is to create cohesive communities, improve lives and build a safer future for everyone.

They are on a mission to empower every child with the resilience and skills to make safe choices in any risky situation.  Their work provides the foundational skills that underpin fulfilled, happy lives by increasing access to high-quality social skills education for those who need it most.  These skills are delivered in the context of substance misuse (including smoking, vaping and alcohol), knife and hate crime, and developing emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills by modelling real-life situations for young people to work through.

They are in the process of creating resources to help young people deal with issues of misogyny and domestic abuse.
