Aim

Helping Orthodox Jewish young people build confidence, friendships, wellbeing, resilience, and positive mental health.

Future Legends Club was created in response to growing concerns about loneliness, anxiety, low confidence, and social isolation amongst Orthodox Jewish young people aged 10–18. Through consultation with local teenagers, parents, youth workers, and community leaders, we identified a need for safe, culturally appropriate opportunities where young people can build friendships, improve wellbeing, and access support.

Our vision is to create a welcoming environment where young people feel connected, valued, and supported whilst developing the confidence, resilience, and life skills needed to thrive.

Funding will enable us to deliver a 12-month programme supporting over 200 young people. Activities will include:

1] Weekly 2-hour wellbeing walks in local parks and green spaces, with 52 sessions delivered annually, helping participants improve physical health, reduce stress, build friendships, and connect with nature.

2] Weekly 2-hour team sports sessions, including table tennis, table football, and other group activities, with 52 sessions delivered annually, encouraging teamwork, resilience, confidence, and positive social interaction.

3] Weekly 2-hour drop-in wellbeing sessions, supported by trained counsellors, with 52 sessions delivered annually, offering a safe space where young people can discuss challenges and access emotional support.

4] Weekly 90-minute therapeutic peer-support groups, with 52 sessions delivered annually, helping participants develop coping strategies, improve self-esteem, build confidence, and learn from one another's experiences.

5] 350 mentoring hours delivered throughout the year, providing small-group mentoring focused on confidence-building, emotional wellbeing, resilience, communication skills, peer relationships, and positive coping strategies.

The funding raised will contribute towards activity leaders, counsellors, venue hire, refreshments, equipment, and programme coordination, ensuring that all activities remain accessible and free of charge to participants.
