Homeless food market

Aim

Our latest addition to our homeless kitchen is what we've called a market. Essentially it is shopping bags filled with essentials for a week

Every week our volunteers take a large street kitchen out on the streets of Brighton. Over 200 people visit this event for hot food and essentials. We've now started giving out food bags full of nutritious extras such as cereal, soup and fresh vegetables. Some of this items are donated by local supermarkets but not all. We top up all our bags with bought items that are not acquired for free. 

We see a lot of vulnerable people so we also have a foodbank for those who aren't able to support themselves or struggle to buy basics. From toilet rolls to toothbrushes to milk and hot chocolate. Any extra money we raise goes to that foodbank and kitchen. 

Our clients range from street sleepers to sofa surfers and those in temporary accommodation. We help everyone who comes to our kitchen or door.
