Due to the cost-of-living crisis we are finding that more people are needing help with food to help them feed their families, themselves as time goes on, we see people and family's 1st hand who are living in food poverty. No one should need to be without food in this day and age but unfortunately, it's a sad reality.
We initially started to give out food parcels in 2020 when the pandemic hit this was supposed to be a temporary for 6 weeks over 2 years later, we are still going, and people are still very much relying on the food parcel service and unfortunately things have got harder due to the cost-of-living crisis.
We collect foodshare from coop 2 nights per week sometimes more if they have surplus food. This helps us with fruit vegetables and items for our freezers we cannot be guaranteed food or a choice, but we are extremely grateful for our foodshare.
We have a little funding which allows us to top up the freezer and buy fresh milk each week for food parcels over the past few weeks we have seen a rise in our weekly shopping.
We are trying to raise funds to help us to purchase non-perishable food items to help us to have stock in our food store as it has been running very low. Any donation will be very gratefully received.
Each week we are getting new requests for food parcels due to the fast-rising cost of everything including food and energy. It's a very hard and stressful situation for everyone.
Any money raised will be used for non-perishable food items such as baby formula, breakfast cereal, tinned foods, self-care items such as soap and toothpaste.
Thank you so much for taking time to read our story.
