I am a parent with children at Valley Park School, and I'm devastated that Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) approved an application for a 15 metre 5G mast to be erected less than 10 metres from the school boundary and less than 100 metres from the classrooms.
Here's a link to the planning application on Maidstone Borough Council's planning portal:
Despite some strong objections from parents and residents, the council gave the go-ahead to install this mast. It has to be noted that the consultation process was not carried out sufficiently, and the schools, parents and local residents were not properly consulted.
As many of you already know, I began legal action against Maidstone Borough Council in an effort to get the council's decision overturned. I intended to file Judicial Review proceedings earlier in June and I spent many weeks preparing my case, with the help of three very dedicated volunteers. However, my efforts were thwarted, largely by the extremely tight deadline, and by the lack of necessary funding to pay for all the legal costs, which were rapidly mounting up. Had I felt that the grounds for my arguments were absolutely watertight, enough to ensure a successful case, then I might have gone ahead regardless, and thought about how to pay the legal costs afterwards. But I simply couldn't take that chance, so I very reluctantly called a halt to the proceedings.
I am not giving up easily though. I'm not prepared to sit back and let this mast be erected directly outside of my son's school. There are implications on health, which I have set out below.

HEALTH IMPACTS OF TELECOMS MASTS
The potential short and long term health impacts of a mast so close to school classrooms and young adolescents have been ignored. Children as young as 11 attend both Valley Park and Invicta Schools and can spend as long as 7 hours per day at the school, so they could be exposed to high radio frequency radiation (RFR) on a regular basis for several years. The staff of the school and local residents living very close to the mast will also be exposed.
The council did not take the health implications of this mast into consideration. I also believe that proper consultation was ignored and that alternative sites could and should have been properly considered.
Please support my campaign in whichever way you can, either by donating, to help me settle my legal costs, or by sharing the link to my Crowd Funder. Any help is very much appreciated.
Thank you.

This project aims to raise funds to resolve a claim, or other type of dispute. Neither Crowdfunder nor the Project Owner can guarantee the outcome of that dispute, or that it will be resolved at all. Due to the uncertain nature of disputes, it is not possible for the Project Owner to be sure that the amount it raises will be enough to resolve the dispute or to see it through to its conclusion. If the desired outcome of the dispute is achieved in the first instance, it may be subject to appeal and may be overturned.
