Stone Puppet Festival will support the High Street, engage with local families and children and bring fun packed entertaining weekend to all
Last year we held the first ever Stone Puppet Festival and we can honestly say that this was an outstanding success.
With over 4000 people visiting Stone over the weekend, some from as far away as London, Scotland and the South Coast, they were treated to a range of exciting indoor and outdoor shows.
We have set three aims for the Festival, these are:
Bringing an international flavor to this year’s festival, we have invited Russian Puppet Master Evgeny Koshevsky from St Petersburg with his amazing Wooden Horse Puppet Theatre.
Featuring:
Noisy Oyster
Rough Magic Theatre Presents

The Crown Jewels have been stolen from the Tower of London and Scotland Yard have called in their two greatest detectives........Sadly, they’re busy.
Now it’s up to the vain D.C.I. Clueless and his canine partner D.S. Wuffles to crack the case!
What are those cheeky, elusive crows up to? Will our heroes get a knighthood from the Queen or will they get locked up in the Tower? An engaging mix of live action, slapstick and puppetry with a fantastic comic song and dance finale, the show debuted to packed houses at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival.
Evgeny Koshewsky

Following the success of Stone’s first Puppet Festival last August, we wanted to bring an international flavour to this year’s event and we have invited Evgeny who spent all his childhood working in the theatre. His father Igor Fokin founder of the street puppet theatre Wooden Horse Puppet Theatre was teaching him to perform marionettes from the time he was 5 years old.
When he was 7 he first went out on the streets to help Igor in the shows in St-Petersburg, Russia. He was 15 he presented his first professional performance for a film of Elena Demikovsky about his father, Igor “The Story of Finist”. Soon he started to perform shows on the streets of the Sankt-Petersburg.
The Wooden Horse Puppet Theatre appears in many festivals in Europe and Asia. His show is permanent act of Sankt-Petersburg Art-Park Street Artist Festival.
The Yellow Box Story Tellers present Hansel and Gretel

Freddie and his helper are traveling story tellers and have in their possession a large yellow magic box. When opened they never quite know what’s going to be inside it?
Whatever they find Magically helps them to tell their story, but which story will it be today? (Don't tell anyone but this one involves a witch, a gingerbread house and a not so nice stepmother who'd rather her two step children disappear forever. Oh and there's cow and talk of knickers but that just confuses things!)
The Yellow Box Storytellers use 12″marionettes and miniature theatre with a dash of magic to help tell traditional fairy tales to children of all ages.
Performers for 2016 are:
Evgeny Koshevsky from Russia presents The Wooden Horse Puppet Theatre
