To improve facilities to support entire local community and provide better inclusivity for everyone.
We are a local community based Village sports club, who enjoy providing various sports and social events for everyone. Cricket has been played in the Thankful Village of Stoke Hammond since the 1880 but The Football and Cricket Club amalgamated in the Summer of 1952. It became Stoke Hammond Sports Club. The late Prince Phillip planted a tree to commemorate the opening of the club in 1952.

We run a cricket, pool and darts teams for our sporting requirements. Our club offers sports access to 8 to 65+ years old. We have 3 thriving teams in various competitive leagues and friendly fixtures. We have now also setup a junior section which includes boys and girls and we are looking to setup a ladies cricket team. We are the main hub in the community supporting our ladies that lunch (for those living on their own within the community). Coffee mornings for those that just need a chat and a bit of a social. Keep fit classes for all ages, Garden club meetings, artist painting classes, community social events and provide local services like a venue for parties, wakes etc.

We have been the same size since 1952, however our community has grown and developed all around us. We have now out grown our current premises and are struggling to offer all of these facilities to our community, we have planned an extension to maximise the space we have and to offer suitable facilities for everyone involved within the club.
We are applying for all types of funding and involving our local Parish Council for further support. We are asking everyone involved to help renovate the club house so we can keep on serving our community and everyone who comes to our club.
We need the following items to be able to provide the correct Junior and Ladies cricket and football support for our members.
1. A better training facility

All the money raised will go towards supporting the extension of the clubhouse, supporting the playing facilities for our junior cricketers and all the community members who attend the club.
We will build better changing room facilities to offer our less abled members better access, offer separate changing facilities for our female members for all sports and provide a better kitchen area to offer all of our social events to be run with more efficiency and support the volunteers better.
We want to lay the foundations for future generations of the club and community to be able to enjoy the facilities and keep having access to the club.
We will invest in an Astro Turf Pitch for our Junior and new cricketers, we will purchase new cricket training equipment to support better coaching and development.
The proposed plans to extend the Kitchen, Toilet and mainly the changing room areas to ensure they are separated from the bar and main clubhouse areas to allow better control of the changing areas as we look to run Junior and Womens Football and Cricket teams. The kitchen extension will give our community and social events a better facility to cater and the change in toilet access will give our less abled members more dignity and access.

The current facilities are in desperate need of updating as shown below.
