Aim

We aim to purchase a new sit-on lawn mower, costing approximately £6,000, so that we can maintain high ground standards.

Who are we?

Stockport Trinity is a small but a friendly and inclusive cricket club based on Highfield Road in Bramhall, Cheshire. We have over 100 members, ranging from 6 to 86 years old. We celebrated our centenary in 2023.

Through the hard work of our volunteer members, over the last decade the club has grown significantly. We were a small club that turned out two adult teams on Saturday and a single age-group junior team. We now have multiple senior and junior teams competing in various competitions and are a well-known and valued member of our local community. Cricket takes place on our ground 7 days a week all summer.

Much effort has gone into improving our facilities in recent years. A major fundraising initiative in 2021 allowed us to upgrade our netting facility and our clubhouse. Stockport Trinity is now truly a lovely place to watch and play cricket.

Why are we crowdfunding?

All cricket clubs need a well maintained outfield and wicket and Stockport Trinity is no exception. Our ground maintenance team is made up entirely of volunteers who invest many hours of their time all year round to keep our facility in excellent.

However, we face a major challenge in 2024 because our outfield mower has broken and cannot be repaired.

A mower is crucial to our club. Without it we run the risk of our facility not being maintained to the standard required by the league. We really want our ground to be in the best condition possible for the benefit of players and spectators alike.

With the 2024 cricket season just around the corner, we are looking to raise The Money over the next few weeks to purchase a replacement mower.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We aim to purchase a new sit-on lawn mower, costing approximately £6,000, so that we can maintain the high ground standards at Stockport Trinity Cricket Club. This will be a genuinely long term investment for the club.

Community impact

We have an excellent relationship with the local community. Locals enjoy playing and watching cricket at Highfield Road. Never was this more evident than in July of last year when many people in our local community came together to enjoy the club’s centenary match against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Local schools have been integral to the growth of our junior section over the last decade. We have built strong connections with these schools, notably Nevill Road Primary School in Bramhall. We offer the ground to this and other schools for open-air activities during the summer. We have run taster sessions for Nevill Road who have brought entire year groups at a time to the ground to enjoy sessions run by our club coaches.

The growth of our junior section is entirely dependent on these relationships. The local schools are hugely supportive to our junior section in promoting cricket at Stockport Trinity and providing us with a ‘conveyor belt of new juniors.
