Stockport RUFC U13 International Tour

Aim

The U13 Stockport RUFC team have been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent their club and play internationally in Portugal.

It would be fantastic if the whole squad could have the opportunity to go together and represent their club, develop their rugby skills further and share this amazing experience.

A bigger and stronger squad also gives them more chance of winning - something this squad loves to do and they love to do it together.

The team started when the boys were just 5 years old, through fantastic commitment and coaching from Dan and his team, the squad has grown and developed. They are playing at a great level and it would be a reward for all of the players and their coaches to be able to take this opportunity and experience playing internationally.

There are a number of fundraising events been arranged for the boys to show their commitment to raising the full amount needed:

On Friday 27th January - the team will be holding a Friday night match fundraising event at Stockport Rugby club - starting at 6pm, there will be raffles with great prizes including £450 treatment at Nicola Jay, a mobile phone or tablet, Barber vouchers, Nail Treatment at the Beauty Barn, Let Loose Play and Dine voucher, Vouchers for Weinholts Bakery and Teeth whitening. There will be stalls of sweets and cakes, some homemade, face painting, a DJ, hot drinks, dog treats and independent vendors too. The lads will play a match against the Salford Roosters, kick off at 7pm and for all those budding rugby stars there will be a penalty kick competition. Come down and join us for a fantastic night of rugby and fun - £5 for the car park - all proceeds going towards the tour.

If you can't make it but would still like to support the team, any donation large or small would be hugely appreciated. 

On Sunday 5th March, after playing their weekly rugby match against Bowden, the U13 team, their siblings, coaches and parents will be completing a sponsored walk to the B-29 Aircraft Wreckage in the High Peak. A challenge they will complete as a team.

On Saturday 25th February, the U13  team will be bag packing at Tesco Extra in Stockport between 10am and 4pm. Come down and enjoy the luxury of someone else doing the heavy lifting, packing your shopping while you take a break. If you do not need any shopping packed or cannot make it at that time but would still like to support the team to achieve their fundraising target of £4000 - thank you in advance for your donation.

The donations and funds raised will be used to contribute to the cost of flights, accommodation and kit for the boys on the tour.
