Still Falling: a Scottish indie feature film

We're raising £16,000 to complete Still Falling, a film about letting go

Do you remember those friendships that shaped you - the endless summers, the dumb jokes, the days that felt like they’d last forever? Still Falling is a coming-of-age drama about three friends who reunite and return to the hut where they used to spend their summer holidays, back when their number was four. At its heart, our film is a story about friendship, grief and the lasting impact of the people who shape our youth. There are no explosions or shoot-outs, it’s just a love letter to our little corner of the world.

Still Falling is an independent Scottish feature film being made by Aircraft Productions, led by Harvey Gardner and Arthur Johnson. Harvey is an award-winning Scottish filmmaker who won Best UK Drama at the RTS Awards. Arthur is a writer-director with a background in stand up comedy, he studied screenwriting at Brooklyn College and the prestigious John Yorke Story course. Together, they are longtime creative collaborators with a shared love for introverts, underdogs, outsiders, and dreamers. At the heart of their work is a desire to tell stories that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant - where humour becomes a bridge to something deeper.

The film’s producing team consists of Ivan Masiuk, Lesley Davidson and Sevi Wyper. The cinematography is led by Vasileios Kapnis and Euan Farmer. The three main characters are played by Samuel Lee Johnston, Josh Haynes and Ross Ian-Martin. 

We’re also proud to be working in collaboration with the University of the West of Scotland’s Creative Media Academy. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to make use of around £25,000 worth of professional equipment, studios and production facilities, while students and alumni have the chance to get involved in the making of a independent feature. For us, it’s about bringing together the resources of UWS with the next generation of filmmakers, giving them the chance to gain crucial experience and take their first steps into the industry.  
 

As a team of micro-budget filmmakers, we’re doing it all for a love of the work. This film has been in the making for several years - countless hours of writing, planning and now filming. It has relied on the goodwill of a great many people who have come on board, purely because they believe in the project and the experience that making it will earn them. It has grown to become something that means an enormous amount to everyone involved and we need your help to see it through to the end.

We are now raising funds to cover the remaining production and post-production costs. These include: equipment hire, location permits, transportation, festival fees, VFX and animation fees, to name a few. Creative Scotland are match funding every donation up to £250. This means your money will go further. However much you can spare, your donation will be magically doubled and so every amount (big or small), makes a huge difference and is greatly appreciated!
