Step2Dance Scholarship Programme

Aim
To enable disadvantaged children to attend our dance classes and take part in our performances.
Step 2 Dance is dedicated to providing high-quality dance classes to children of all ages and backgrounds. We are passionate about creating a strong sense of community and helping children build confidence, resilience, and self-belief through dance.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of dance, regardless of their financial circumstances. That’s why, for the past five years, we have proudly run a bursary support programme, providing funded places for children facing financial hardship who may not otherwise be able to attend our dance school.
Our bursary support programme helps cover the cost of dance classes, costumes, and other essential expenses, giving children the chance to pursue their passion, perform alongside their peers, and reach their full potential. Being part of an inspiring and supportive group of teachers and students can make a huge difference to a child’s confidence — both in and out of the studio.
Funds raised also help us bring in guest teachers and specialist workshops, allowing us to offer high-quality experiences at a reduced cost so that all our dancers can benefit.
During last year’s show, thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over £1,400, which helped many disadvantaged children attend classes, gain confidence, and make new friends. We would love to build on this success again this year.
As we look to the future, we’re excited to share that we are currently in the process of creating the Step 2 Dance Foundation, with our application now submitted to the Charity Commission. While we await formal acceptance, this crowdfunder allows us to continue the work we’ve proudly been doing for the past five years — and to grow our impact even further.
