STEEL - My 4th Short Film.

Hungover on New Year’s Day, Shaun wakes to find his TV stolen, but quickly realises it’s the smallest of his worries in a much bigger mess. 

SYNOPSIS

January 1st. Shaun, a scruffy lad in his mid-20s, begins his new year hungover and TV-less, courtesy of a party the night before that has left his apartment in quite the state, and the word ‘STEEL’ spray-painted on his wall. 

With his girlfriend far less heartbroken than he is, Shaun claws at blurred memories from the party - unfamiliar faces, intoxicated charm, and… still owning a TV - where he discovers that it might not have been as joyous as he first thought. 

By the time his detective work gets him anywhere, his ‘life or death’ problem takes on a quite literal meaning, forcing Shaun to question whether any of this is worth it. 

STEEL is a comically tragic tale of determination and naivety over what we should and shouldn’t care about - a scattered mystery told across 2 days and, technically, 2 years. 

WELCOME

Hello! My name is Sam, an actor from Nottingham, and the writer/producer of 'STEEL'. This marks my 4th short film, and it's time for me to step up. In the last 3 years, I've made 3 short films, gotten into festivals around London, and even won best super-short film for my horror 'SHEEP'.

I've entirely self-funded these last 3 projects, and it wouldn't have been possible without people's generosity, putting their time and trust in a project I couldn't pay them for.

And that's what this campaign is all about. STEEL is more ambitious than anything I've done before, yet completely achievable given your help! I write all my projects with tight limitations in mind, and STEEL is no different. Single location, plausible logistics, no VFX/CGI... purely focusing on quality of craft, and finally being able to pay the people who will be with me on this journey!

Every penny will go towards making STEEL the best it can be. They say, 'go alone if you want to go fast, but go together if you want to go far.' 

The ultimate goal is to release the film on New Year's Eve, as the film is intended to be seen ;)
