This additional money will go to making the area around the nets more welcoming once...
Aim: Stayley Cricket Club are fundraising to replace the training net facility to benefit the whole club.
Stayley Cricket Club are a village cricket club based in Millbrook, Stalybridge and currently play in the Greater Manchester Cricket League. The club have 3 senior men's teams along with a ladies soft ball team and a complete junior set up.
Stayley Cricket Club are fundraising to replace the existing nets that were damaged in December 2023 when a tornado hit the club. The training nets are essential in the development of all players at Stayley Cricket club and will be a fantastic addition to encourage new and returning players back to the club. This will also go towards training the next generation of home grown cricket stars of the future.
The project for new nets will consist of 2 fully enclosed, all weather practice nets along with a practice multi use pitch. This will ensure the nets are only accessed when club coaches are present, meaning the nets will be secure, reducing the chance of them being damaged.
The money raised will be joint matched by Sport England up to a maximum value of £15,000. The total cost of the project is £36,000. Every penny raised will be used to ensure this project is completed and the club will be future proofed to provide training facilities for many years to come.
We want more people within the local community to get active through cricket at Stayley Cricket Club. To encourage more people to join we need the adequate training facilities.
