Help Me Launch “Starch Nemesis” – Feeding Communities & Supporting Veterans
For most of my life I’ve worked hard, served others, and pushed through challenges that many people never see.
I joined the Royal Navy in 1997 and had the opportunity to see the world. During my service, I suffered a serious injury when a wire rope snapped during a boat transfer and split my head open. Years later, this injury led to epilepsy, something I still live with today.
After leaving the Navy, I went into pub management before spending over 20 years working alongside my dad as a bricklayer. Like many tradesmen, years of heavy lifting took their toll on my body. I now suffer from collapsed discs in my lower back and arthritis in my neck.
At the moment I work in brick tinting, but the job involves climbing 3-tier ladders daily — something I technically shouldn’t be doing because of the risk of seizures.
Despite everything, I’ve always believed in working hard and helping people where I can. For years I’ve wanted to do something meaningful for homeless people and struggling veterans, and now I finally feel ready to turn that dream into reality.
That’s why I’m launching Starch Nemesis — a jacket potato food truck with a purpose.
This isn’t just about selling food. It’s about creating something that gives back.
My goal is to:
Provide end-of-day food giveaways for homeless people and those struggling
Donate leftover stock instead of letting good food go to waste
Support veterans who may be facing difficult times
Build partnerships with delivery companies so food can reach people further afield
Create a business that genuinely helps the community while also supporting my family
I’ve already taken huge steps toward making this happen:
The business is registered
The branding and menu are designed
Paperwork is being completed
The vision is clear
The biggest hurdle now is securing the food truck itself and getting established on a pitch so I can start serving customers and helping people.
Every donation, no matter how small, genuinely helps move this dream closer to reality.
If you can’t donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting a project built on hard work, resilience, and helping others.
Together, we can turn a food truck into something that makes a real difference.
