Stanmer Organics 25 year Anniversary Open Day

Aim

Stanmer Organics is fundraising for it's extra special 25th year anniversary FREE Open Day on Saturday July 23rd.

Stanmer Organics is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this summer by holding an extra special Open Day.

To ensure that the event can be assessed by low income households too, we are not charging an entrance fee this year.  

Stanmer Organics is a collective of 18 projects spread across 17 acres of certified organic land on the edge of the South Downs National park. 

The collective is a mix of organic food/flower/herb/tree growing social enterprises and charities, arts and crafts practitioners and various Well-Being projects.

Once a year Stanmer Organics opens it's gates, to allow the residents of Brighton & Hove and beyond to come along and see and experience a sample of what we do here.    

The annual event is always a beautiful, enriching and family friendly fun day out for everyone.    

An amazing excuse to spend the day outside, submerged in the nature that is on our very doorstep.  An opportunity to learn about organic food growing, woodcraft, basketry, medicinal herb uses etc.    

A day to discover interesting volunteer opportunities that you can get involved in throughout the year.    Tour round the plots that are growing organic veggies for our local foodbanks.   Talk to project volunteers about the work they do with the refugee groups who come to Stanmer and cook and share food together.   See the work of the stone mason and the woodcrafters.    

The site will open to visitors at 11am on Saturday July 23rd.    

There will be an array of food tasters, meals and refreshments available on the individual plots throughout the site.    The plots will close at 4pm/5pm and then everyone will then gather around the EarthShip for live music, food and a licensed bar until 9pm.    

Eco loos will be available by the Earthship 

Entry to the event is free but as an organisation which doesn't make a profit, we do need to fundraise in order to be able to pay for the event to run. We would rather fundraise for this event to happen, than charge an entrance fee, which could lead to the event being unaffordable to attend for some.

Please donate towards our fundraiser to keep our event affordable for all.  Every £5, £10, £20 will help in opening our gates to the public for this wonderfully special 25 year anniversary Open Day

We have also a very special selection of 'Rewards' that can be bought.   

Plot holders are giving their time and energy and resources for free, in order to offer some of our donors some very special rewards.    From a tasty vegan lunch for 2 on the Open Day itself, to a place on an organic food growing course next spring.   How about treating staff to a organic food growing day including lunch for up to 12 people?  Or a tour of the delicious apple orchards for up to 20 people. Or a one to one woodcraft session, where you get to work with the artist and then take the piece that you have created home with you! 

Stanmer Organics are extremely proud of the work that happens on our 17 acre site and we very much look forward to welcoming you to join us for our very special Open Day this year!
