Aim

To support the development of our under 19 Academy team, to enable them to compete in the 2015 season of the CPPS series of 5 events.

To secure sufficient funding to support the development of our under 18 team to equip them to be able to compete successfully in the 2015 season of the Central Professional Paintball Series.

SAD (Staffordshire and District) paintball club originally founded in 1993 to compete in the national leagues disbanded in 2003, this followed a successful period during which time the team travelled across the UK and Europe competing in many competitions.

The team reformed in 2013 and now competes in the Central Professional Paintball Series events held in Rodbaston College grounds. The CPPS attracts over 110 teams to each round of competition, teams travel from all over the UK to compete.

SAD Paintball Academy was created to enable younger players to participate in the sport of paintball, with the support of an established club.

We now have 11 youngsters, who are members of our Academy team, aged between 14 to 18 they are benefitting from regular training with and coaching from players within the club.

What we would like is support to raise £1500 to enable the club to hire the training pitch more often, so that we can provide dedicated youth training, and to be able to engage with professional coaches to work on the players fitness, communication, and techniques.

Hiring the field for a dedicated training session is £200 per day, add to this the costs of training paint, and coaches. It soons drifts out of reach of most youngsters. This soon adds up to over £50 per session, and does not include the costs associated with obtaining all of the equipment to compete in the sport.

SAD currently provide the coaching and support from within the team, using the older experienced players to guide the newer younger players. However this can only take their development so far.

With your help we want to set up a structured training programme, dedicated coaches, better equipment, and training sessions specifically for the development of these young players.

They will develop life skills, communication, fitness, negotiation, will become more active and focused, and with your help, and some hard work and dedication they will enjoy the feeling of success as a team.

For an insight into the impact that paintball can have please see the YouTube clip below, this is posted by professional paintball player Grayson Goff.

Grayson Goff wanted to show parents why kids should be allowed to play paintball. So he went to the source. He interviewed his own mother and let her put into her own words why kids should be allowed and even encouraged to play paintball.

Grayson plays on professional team San Antonio Xfactor and runs BKiPaintball.
