At Stable Lives, we believe in the power of mentorship, adventure, and resilience to shape young lives. Our Youth Support has been a beacon of hope, bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds to grow, lead, and support one another. From fortnightly Youth Groups to Residential experiences and ongoing Mentorship the Youth Support is a key area of Stable Lives wider outreach. 

Last year we saw over 70 individuals attend our Monday Youth Group's. We also took 30 young people on a residential where we saw incredible transformations—young people stepping up to mentor others, building confidence, and forming lasting friendships. Unlike last year, at present we have been unable to gain funding - but we are determined to run this —and need your help to make it happen!

What is the Youth Leadership Programme?

The Stable Lives Youth Leadership Programme is part of Stable lives Youth Support Package. It is designed to empower young people with leadership skills, resilience, and a sense of purpose. Through a series of mentorship sessions and outdoor adventure experiences, participants develop confidence, teamwork, and the ability to support peers who may be facing challenges in their lives.

The programme culminates in a three-day residential trip to Patterdale Hall where our young leaders and peer mentors will take part in exciting activities, build friendships, and create unforgettable memories. This then feeds into our ongoing mentorship at the Stable Lives Youth Group. 

Why is this Youth Support important?

• Many of the young people we support face mental health challenges, social isolation, or personal struggles.
• We provide a safe space where they can build resilience, confidence, and a strong support network.
• Peer mentorship is at the heart of what we do—young people helping each other through life’s ups and downs.
• Outdoor and adventure-based experiences have been proven to boost well-being, self-esteem, and leadership skills.

Why do we need funding?

The Youth Support (Youth Group, 1-1 and peer sessions and Youth Leadership Programme) are all free for participants. The Youth Leadership Programme costs us around £400 per young person to deliver. While we have limited some funding, we need additional support to ensure every child, regardless of their financial situation, can take part. We require funding beyond this to help our Youth access the support they require through sessions and/ or attending the Youth Group. 

We are asking for your help to raise £12,000 to cover:
✅ Continuation of the Youth Group for 25/26
✅ Youth Leadership Programme (accommodation, travel to Patterdale Hall)
✅ Activity costs (outdoor pursuits, team-building, mentorship workshops)
✅ Additional funding to support access to our courses for our Youth.

At Stable Lives, through our fundraising, all our courses have, and will continue to be free at point of access. No child will ever be excluded due to financial barriers.
