Creating an energy efficient warm space for community and church use.
St Thomas Church is a vibrant, community and church space in the centre of Camelford. Our ethos is to care for & nurture both people and nature.
There are many events and activities that take place in the building and these include a well-being hub with health and support groups, a parish nurse drop-in clinic, orchestras, coffee, cake and craft events.
The oil boiler was condemned which gave an opportunity to explore eco heating options and work towards net zero emissions for our building. We have already installed an air source heat pump and are now looking to maximise the benefits from this system.
The aim of this project is to install insulation in parts of the building, and add in further energy efficient systems, to keep the building consistently warm whilst cutting carbon. This investment will enable the building to be used more of the time and will save on energy costs.
