We come alongside local residents to develop activities that directly meet the need of families that are struggling in our neighbourhood.
Here at St Luke's Lunch we want to fill a hunger gap, increase social connections and provide a space for children to explore, create and have fun.
School Holiday Free Family Cafe and Enriching Activities
Each school holiday we provide a free family cafe for local families to drop in and create their own lunch. Our partners Travelling Light then spark their imagination and creativity offering themed art, craft, drama and play.
New Activities
In 2022 we spent time with local parents to further understand the needs of families and how they would like to get involved in supporting and developing activities to meet those needs. From this the following emerged:
Free After School Family Cafe.
An after school family cafe with free hot drinks and snacks, a warm space for families to socialise and space for children to run and play.
Free Family Food Shop
Run by local parents we share food, clothes and cleaning products from Fareshare and community donations. Families can choose the items to top up their food cupboards to enable a balanced diet.
Free Parent Coffee Morning
Run by local parents, a weekly coffee morning where parents can gather in a warm space, meet new friends and the children have the space to run around and play.

Our project aims to help families in Barton Hill hardest hit by the rising costs of living. Lawrence Hill is within the UK's 10% most deprived, over half the children are classed as living in poverty.
The sessions are run and developed by local families.
We are looking for funding for the space we use and for the food at activities.
It's a large space for the children to run around but with the significant rises in energy bills we do not have the funds to meet the heating and lighting costs of the extra sessions we are running.
